High Cholesterol
Optimize your lipids with precision, not guesswork.
Lipid optimization through advanced testing and personalized nutrition protocols. We go beyond total cholesterol to address particle size, inflammation, and cardiovascular risk.
How we approach high cholesterol.
Precision means starting with data, not assumptions. Here is what your care includes, from the signs we work with to the plan you leave with.
Elevated LDL cholesterol on standard testing
High triglycerides
Low HDL cholesterol
Family history of heart disease
Physician recommendation to improve lipids before medication
Advanced Lipid Testing
Standard cholesterol panels miss critical details. We test LDL particle number, particle size, Lp(a), and ApoB for a complete cardiovascular risk picture.
Dietary Fat Strategy
Not all fat is the problem. We build your fat intake around your specific lipid subfractions. Sometimes increasing certain fats actually improves your numbers.
Inflammation Connection
Oxidized LDL and inflammation are the real cardiovascular risks. We target both through nutrition and supplementation.

Advanced Lipid Panel
LDL-P, LDL particle size, ApoB, Lp(a), triglycerides, HDL. Far more informative than standard cholesterol.

Inflammatory Markers
hs-CRP, homocysteine, and oxidized LDL: the markers that actually predict cardiovascular events.
- Personalized fat and fiber targets based on your lipid subfractions
- Omega-3 and plant sterol supplementation guided by your specific markers
- Meal plans that target triglycerides, raise HDL, and reduce small dense LDL
- Weekly sessions to reinforce dietary changes and track progress
From coverage check to first visit.
Three steps, no guesswork. Your benefits are verified before you ever book a visit.
Check your coverage
Share your insurance details and we verify your benefits before you book anything. Most plans cover dietitian visits under preventive benefits, with a typical $0 copay for eligible members.
Match with a registered dietitian
We pair you with a licensed RD whose clinical focus fits high cholesterol care, so your visits start with relevant experience, not a generic template.
Start your protocol
Your first telehealth visit usually happens within a few business days of verification. You leave with a plan built around your labs, your history, and your life.
What to expect.
Improved LDL particle profile (fewer small dense particles)
Lower triglycerides and higher HDL
Reduced cardiovascular inflammation markers
Potential to avoid or reduce statin medication

Common questions about high cholesterol.
Can diet really lower cholesterol?
Peer-reviewed clinical trials and AHA scientific statements report meaningful LDL-C and triglyceride improvements with structured dietary intervention, often in the ranges shown in the benchmarks above. Knowing which dietary changes matter for your specific lipid profile typically requires advanced testing beyond standard panels. Individual results vary.
Do you work with patients already on statins?
Yes. Medical nutrition therapy works alongside statin therapy. Some patients are able to reduce their dose over time, but only in coordination with the prescribing physician, never independently.
Full Precision Health is a registered dietitian practice supervised by our medical director, with prescribing physicians available for medication coordination where clinically indicated. We provide medical nutrition therapy for the conditions on this page, working alongside your primary care or specialist physician for ongoing diagnosis and disease management. Information on this page is educational and not a substitute for professional medical advice.
